How To Help

Public support is essential to our mission here at HMN and you can help us by donating your time and/or money. You contribution, whether time and money, is greatly appreciated.

Donate:

You have the option of choosing how we spend your money by identifying a specific project, or geographic region identified below. If the project that you select is fully funded, HMN will use your generous donation for the project most in need.

General Fund - provides operating funds and support for new/existing projects. This choice allows HMN to develop, expand, and focus funds on projects that may need more support.
Education - provides funds to continue and expand HMN's public outreach and education work. This work includes our Mexican student intern program, training workshops, public outreach events, educational material, and much more.
Monitoring - provides funds to the monitoring program but does not restrict the funds to be used in a specific region. It helps HMN expand to other regions where there are important breeding and migration areas for hummingbirds.
Monitoring in Arizona
Monitoring in California
Monitoring throughout western USA, currently Colorado, Utah, and Idaho
Monitoring in British Columbia
Monitoring in Mexico
Preservation - provides HMN the ability to expand preservation work to other regions and to help preserve other endangered hummingbird species
Borderlands Habitat Restoration Initiative - A bottoms up approach to restoring ecosystems in southern Arizona and northern Sonora / Chihuahua. You donation will help restore hummingbird nectar plants in the region.
Research - provides funds for expanding HMN's research program and supporting student research

HMN promises to minimize administrative costs and maximize funds sent directly to your chosen project.  Should the project that you select be completely funded, HMN will use your generous donation for the project most in need.

Alternatively, please send a check to the address below and let us know if you prefer to support a specific project or region.

Volunteer:

The Hummingbird Monitoring Network would not exist without the dedicated help of volunteers, scientists, and citizens like you. If you would like to volunteer on a project, we suggest that you visit one of our public monitoring sites and talk with one of HMN's citizen scientists or scientists. They will be able to identify the best person for you to contact. Or please send a letter of inquiry to:
