Our Logo
Our logo has several features that describe our organization and mission:
- The mountain outline indicates that hummingbirds live throughout the Americas at virtually all elevations and in most wooded habitats.
- The Costa's Hummingbird feeding on Penstemon flowers shows that hummingbirds require resources to survive. Nectar is one of these important resources. Insects are another.
- The female Black-chinned Hummingbird on its nest is an example of how hummingbirds require other resources for successful nesting and thus successful reproduction.
- The flying juvenile male Rufous Hummingbird depicts how North American hummingbirds migrate south for winter. Migration stopover sites for re-fueling are important to their survival.
